Sour Security
A downloadable game for Windows
Sour Security is a twisted, dark-humoured puzzle sandbox game that puts you in the shoes of Merton, a paranoid, neurotic security guard who sees enemies around every corner. Set in an office environment, you’re tasked with keeping things in check, but Merton’s idea of security involves wreaking havoc for the security of himself. With his ever-growing suspicion and utter lack of mercy, he sets off on a cleansing spree, wreaking chaos from the reception all the way to the boss’s office. Your goal is to manipulate everyday office equipment to distract and knock out unsuspecting targets.
As Merton, you’ll interact with everything from file water coolers and vending machines to printers and robot vacuums, using each item in devious ways to incapacitate anyone who crosses your path. Every puzzle gives you the opportunity to strategize how to create the most absurdly disastrous situations, all while keeping Merton’s anxiety at a fever pitch. Will you outsmart your coworkers with subtle, cruel tricks, or will you plunge the entire office into a frenzy of chaotic mayhem?
With a quirky sense of humour and dark, twisted mechanics, Sour Security lets you explore the fine line between surveillance and sabotage. The more you play, the more the office transforms into an increasingly hostile world of paranoia—one office prank at a time.
Sour Security was developed by students of Game Design and Game Development at Futuregames in Stockholm, as part of the fourth and final game project course.
