Nightlight Hero
A downloadable game for Windows
Nightlight Hero
Nightlight Hero is a touching indie game about a boy and his teddy bear, facing their fear of darkness. We wanted to focus on Noah feeling like a hero when overcoming his fears (and the monsters inside it) and rescuing his favorite toy.
Gameplay revolves around figuring out a way to cross the room to rescue Noah’s bear, while staying in the light, as time in the dark sends him back to his bed. Throw balls and toys to activate the light switches and move crates to reach higher places.
A charming game with a whimsical, hand-drawn art style, we hope “Nightlight Hero” appeals to kids of all ages, highlighting the importance of courage and confronting one’s fears.
This game was inspired by the theme “running out of space” and created over a period of three weeks using Unity. VO narration from the intro cinematic was created using elevenlabs.io

Future plans
The main thing to start with would be adding more levels, including a proper tutorial level. The difficulty would increase for each level. We also plan to add motion to the monsters, more toys to save and interact with, and more puzzles both with light and mini-games.
